De vochthoudendheid van zandgronden hangt nauw samen met het gehalte aan organische stof. Hoe meer organische stof hoe groter de vochthoudendheid. Om het organische stofgehalte in de ondergrond te verhogen is er eigenlijk maar één mogelijkheid, en dat is, er voor te zorgen dat bij de bewerking een gedeelte van de humeuze bovengrond met de ondergrond wordt vermengd. Spitfrezen of mengwoelen lijkt dan ook de voorkeur te verdienen boven een bewerking waarbij alleen het humusloze zand wordt losgemaakt zoals dat bij het woelen met een scherpe woeler het geval is.

Inventarisatie van overstromingen beginnend bij de periode 1800-1916. Uitgebreidere aandacht voor de periode in 1939 en 1940. Daanraanst aandacht voor geïnundeerd grasland.

In some crops the quantity of absorbed salts proved to be strongly influenced by concentration in substrate, in other crops much less so. Ca proportion of total absorbed cations limited absorption, whereas salt uptake was favoured by higher temperatures.

The possibility of limiting absorption was less, the higher the proportion of Ca (or the relation divalent/monovalent cations) in the plant. Salt tolerance of crops seemed to be related to the relation Ca/other cations in the plant.

Natuurherstel op voormalige landbouwpercelen, vooral op zandgronden, wordt uitgevoerd om bestaande natuurgebieden te vergroten en ecologische verbindingszones te versterken. Belangrijke beperkende factoren zijn bodemgerelateerd: hoge nutriëntengehaltes, ongeschikte zaadbanken en tekort aan geschikt bodemleven. Een combinatie van ontgronden en transplantatie van grond uit verder ontwikkelde natuurgebieden kan het natuurherstel op akkers sterk versnellen.

La régénération de la mangrove n’est pas une tâche simple, elle nécessite un certain nombre de précautions et d’engagements de la part des populations concernées et des autorités locales tout comme les institutions gouvernementales et/ou non gouvernementales. L’un des principes de réussite de cette activité de reforestation est de rendre les communautés locales actrices et porteuses du projet. Dans ce cadre, la sensibilisation des populations riveraines aux enjeux de la protection des ressources naturelles : mangrove, couvert végétal et stocks de poissons apparaît primordiale.

The study has been conducted in Rostov region since 2009. The object of research is black southern chernozems (zonal soils) and alkali soils that make up the integrated soil cover with more than 35 % alkali soils. The phosphogypsum (PG) application at the doses 5 and 10 t/ha effect on the alkali soils and zonal soils properties against the background of deep tillage when applying accepted (overall application) and proposed (selective application) practice on the soil complex has been studied.

Vast and beautiful grassland landscapes in the Aso Kuju National Park have been maintained by human activities e.g. controlled burning, pasturage and mowing. However, the aging of local farmers and the stagnation of livestock industry make such grassland management increasingly difficult. A successful landscape management of extensive grasslands and forests requires a consensus between grassland restoration and timber forest operation, because locals' opinions vary.
