La presente Resolución aprueba la Normativa ambiental para otorgamiento de autorización ambiental para el uso sostenible de los suelos agropecuarios y forestales, que será aplicable a las personas naturales y jurídicas que realicen actividades de reactivación agrícola y/o cambio de rubro agropecuario en todo el territorio nacional, dentro y fuera de áreas protegidas.

This Law regulates social relations related to rational management of pastures and is aimed at improvement the state and infrastructure thereof with a view of prevention of degradation of pastures. Pastures shall be classified as arid pastures, rotation (high-productive) pastures and seasonal pastures destined for seasonal grazing and transhumance. Legal status of pastures shall be determined in accordance with appurtenance thereof.

This Law establishes the State Policy to Fight and Prevent Desertification within the State of Goiás.

This Code of Forest Harvesting Practices seeks to provide a set of guidelines to forest operators for carrying out sustainable and improved harvesting operations. It applies to all harvesting operations within Liberia’s natural forests. It includes among other things, social environmental and social performance requirements for timber logging and post-harvesting activities.

La presente Ley de Ordenación Agraria y Desarrollo Rural, tiene por finalidad mejorar las explotaciones agrarias de la región, reordenando su base territorial e incrementando con ello su rentabilidad en orden al cumplimiento de la función social de la propiedad de la tierra, tendiendo al óptimo uso de ésta y procediendo, cuando sea necesario, a su expropiación y posterior distribución.

The protection and management of environment are among the pillars of Vision 2020. The objective of the Government is that by 2020, it will have built a nation in which pressure on natural resources, particularly on land, water, biomass and biodiversity, has significantly been reduced and the process of environmental pollution and degradation has been reversed; a nation in which the management and protection of these resources and environment are more rational and well regulated in order to preserve and bequeath to future generations the basic wealth necessary for sustainable development.

La presente Ley se funda en una concepción integral del problema ecológico y en la decisión política de hacerle frente, sumando los esfuerzos del Estado y la sociedad.

This Regulation sets forth procedures and principles of (i) improvement and classification of agricultural lands, (ii) determination of land and soil resources specified in the Law No. 5403 on Soil Preservation and Land Utilization, (iii) land-use planning in compliance with the sustainable development principle, (iv) determination of erosion-sensitive areas, (v) implementation of soil conservation and land management plans and projects, and (vi) establishment and duties of the Soil Preservation Board.

Las Auditorías Ambientales y la Autorregulación, de carácter voluntario, tendrán como propósito la observancia de los principios de política ambiental.

This Regulation sets forth principles and procedures of works and operations regarding private and public forests. This Regulation includes provisions on management and conservation of private and public forests, forest cadastre, forest planning, inspection, environmental impact assessment, as well as permit processes for works and operations regarding private and public forests.

Liberia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) is built on the foundation of the Government’s 150-Day Action Plan. The PRS is part of a longer-term continuum of the Government’s strategy for rapid, inclusive and sustainable growth and poverty reduction, including progress toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
