These Regulations make provision in connection with appeals to the Scottish Ministers under sections 1C, 4B and 9C of the Ancient Monument and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. They also apply in relation to the procedure for dealing with applications for determination by the Scottish Ministers by virtue of a direction under section 3B of the Act. The appeals may concern land affected by a decision.

This Order amends the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 so as to insert a new Part (25B) into Schedule 1. Part 25B confers permitted development rights in respect of development by or on behalf of the Scottish Ministers in relation to the maintenance, repair or reinstatement of ancient monuments and the exercise of other functions under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979.
