Article 13 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Citizen registered for the purpose of allotment of land plot prior to entry into force of this Regional Law, shall have the right of allotment of a plot of land in ownership free of charge in accordance with the modalities set forth by this Regional Law with the conservation of the order of precedence as established by the registration”.

The Decree provides the regulation for redistribution of abandoned, denuded, mountainous lands or uncultivated lands to households and families in order to increase their agricultural productions. Households and families shall be assigned with those lands the right to use them and cultivate them.

La presente Resolución aprueba la Directiva que regula las elecciones de los representantes de la Junta Directiva y la redacción de los estatutos de Comunidades Nativas Inscritas.

This Act provides with respect to the application for and the granting of loans for an agricultural purpose, or for a purpose declared under section 39 to be an approved purpose, the security necessary for the support of such loans and relative proof of title of rights in land.

Article 15 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Expropriation of plots of land for public needs shall be performed in exceptional cases in accordance with the decisions taken by the Regional executive bodies”.

La presente Resolución modifica el Procedimiento para la construcción, reconstrucción, remodelación y legalización de las bienhechurías en tierras entregadas en usufructo, respecto a la necesidad de efectuar un levantamiento por las entidades estatales que administran las tierras entregadas en usufructo.

El presente Decreto Legislativo tiene por objeto promover el otorgamiento de tierras eriazas de libre disponibilidad del Estado con fines de irrigación, mediante la utilización de aguas desalinizadas, para ser destinadas a fines agrícolas y agroindustriales.

Article 1 (1) shall be amended to add the following wording: “Regional Legislative Assembly shall establish the modalities of calculation of land charges pertaining to regional property, and land charges for public land with undelimited property, in case of sale of land plots to lease holder upon expiry of three-year period since the moment of conclusion of lease contract on condition of purposeful land tenure”.

The Act makes renewed provision for – (a) generally the protection of wild fauna and flora; (b) giving effect to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and any other biodiversity related Convention to which Mauritius is or may become a party; and (c) the identification, control and management of reserved lands and private reserves, and for related matters.

The aim of this Regional Act is to minimize abandonment of agricultural lands in the regional territory. To this end it established the Regional Database on Agricultural Lands, which shall include all abandoned lands and pastures available for lease or concession.
