La recaudación de los derechos de agua y del impuesto predial son las fuentes de contribución más importantes en las finanzas municipales, pero la mayoría de municipios oaxaqueños se organizan por usos y costumbres y en esta forma de organización no se contempla el pago del agua y en general de otros servicios públicos.
