L’article 1er du susdit règlement établit que le plan d’aménagement global «Haff Réimech», constitué par le plan d’occupation des sols joint en annexe qui fait partie intégrante du présent règlement grand-ducal, est déclaré obligatoire. The purpose of this Decree is to prescribe matters necessary for the enforcement of the Soil Environment Conservation Act.The Minister of Environment shall formulate a basic plan for soil conservation and a regional soil conservation plan (art. 4). In case where the State, a local government or a soil-related specialized agency inflicts loss to other persons it shall compensate for such loss under the conditions as determined by article 5.

Assessment of forest management in forests pertaining to kolkhozes and agricultural enterprises shall be carried out with a view of transfer thereof to the state forestry enterprises for the purpose of economic and ecological revaluation of forests. Forest officers through on site inspection shall carry out assessment of forest management.

This Regulation of the Minister of Environment Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry is composed of four paragraphs. A forest or land designated for afforestation can be purchased in the following cases: the forest or land is directly adjacent to lands managed by the National Forests; there is no common ownership; the field forest border has been regulated. Other immovables can be purchased as long as it is justified by needs of forest management run by organizational units.

This Order provides for the establishment of a corporation to be known as the Fiji Land Corporation for the purpose of purchasing freehold and leasehold agricultural estates and the developing, subdividing, selling or leasing of parts or the whole thereof, being a project planned by the Land Development Authority in the discharge of its functions under the Land Development Act.

These Regulations, made by the Minister of Forestry under section 13 of the Mountain Catchment Areas Act, implements provisions of that Act in respect of: the constitution and composition of Fire Protection Committees; the election of members of advisory committees for Mountain Catchment Areas; applications for financial aid; declaration of private land as Mountain Catchment Area and relative procedures; directions to owners of land in a Mountain Catchment Area; and applications for compensation of patrimonial loss.
