The present Regulation is made under the Assessment Act. Section 1 establishes that an application under section 23(1) of the afore-mentioned Act by an owner of land to have all or part of that land classified as a farm must be in the form entitled "General Application for Farm Classification" set out in Schedule 1. The present Regulation is made under the Maanulth First Nations Final Agreement Act. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to forest compensation payments. Property Transfer Tax Regulation (B.C. Reg. 74/88).

The present Regulation is made under the Property Transfer Tax Act. Section 3 establishes that in the case of a transfer by a Crown grant or Crown lease agreement that is to be submitted directly by the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands to the land title office for registration on behalf of a transferee, the transferee must, on demand made by the administrator, remit tax and file a return with the administrator. The text consists of 17 sections divided into 3 Parts as follows: General (1); Valuation of life estates and leases (2); Principal residence exemption (3).

For the purpose of the present Act «first nation” means an aboriginal governing body, however organized and established by aboriginal people within their traditional territory in British Columbia, that has been mandated by its constituents to enter into treaty negotiations on their behalf with Her Majesty in right of Canada and Her Majesty in right of British Columbia. Section 3 states that the purpose of the present Act is to establish the British Columbia Treaty Commission.

The present Act provides for taxation of transfer of property and for gaining an interest in property that is registered at the Land Title Office. Taxable transactions include: transfer of fee simple, right to purchase or agreement for sale, lease or lease modification agreements, life estate, foreclosure, Crown grant, escheat, forfeiture or quit claim transfer as a result of corporate reorganization, The calculation of the tax is based on the fair market value of the property. The text consists of 38 sections.
