Assessment Act ([RSBC 1996] Chapter 20).

The present Act lays down provisions relating to assessment of property in the province of British Columbia. Section 18 establishes that all land and improvements in British Columbia are liable to assessment under the present Act unless exempted under this or another enactment. In particular, Part 3 deals, inter alia, with special valuation rules for dams, power plants and substations, valuation rules for designated port land, as well as with classification of land as a farm and classification and valuation of forest land.

Registration of Titles Act 1924 (Cap. 230).

This Act makes provision with respect to the registration of and certification and rectification of titles respecting land. It also provides rules relative to lease of land and other matters regarding land such as mortgage and legal actions regarding land and the bringing of land under this Act. Certificates of title shall be in one of the forms in the Third Schedule to this Act.

Forestry, Wildlife, National Parks and Protected Areas Act (Chapter 12.03).

This Act makes provision for the management and conservation of forest and wildlife resources in Montserrat. It establishes the Forestry, Wildlife, National Parks and Protected Areas Board and the Environmental Fund. The Board shall, among other things, advise the Minister and review and revise the national forest, wildlife and national parks plan.

This Act makes provision with respect to planning and control of development in Montserrat and for these purposes establishes the Planning and Development Authority, defines its functions and powers and provides with respect to its organization and administration. The Authority shall prepare a National Physical Development Plan in accordance with this Act. Development on land requires a permission of the Authority.

This Decree issues the Law on Conservation of the Environment and Prevention of Pollution and specifies the responsibilities of the Minister of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources.The Law is composed of 3 Chapters divided into 43 articles: Definitions and general provisions (I); Rules and principles to ensure safety of the Omani Environment (II); Penalties (III).The attached Appendixes list animals and birds of protected species of the first and second category.Chapter II provides rules to prevent environmental pollution.

This Act makes provision for the registration of title in land and defines effects of registration of title. The Act also provides other rules relative to dealings in land. Land in respect of which title has been registered under this Act may not be transferred, mortgaged, leased or otherwise dealt with, and an instrument that purports to deal with such land shall not be registered, except in accordance with this Act. Rights in land shall be registered with the Registrar of Titles of Norfolk Island.

This Act makes provision for the protection of the environment and vegetation and provides rules to environmental sanitation and physical planning and development. It shall promote the conservation of the natural environment and landscape beauty of Norfolk Island and to ensure, so far as is practicable, that physical works and other activities are in harmony with the natural environment. The Act establishes the Norfolk Island Planning Board. The Board shall consider applications for authorization of activities for which approval is required under this Act.

Land Planning and Development Control Ordinance, 2008.

This Ordinance provides rules for the development of land and land-use planning in general and provides for control on development. It establishes the Land Planning and Development Control Board and the Planning and Development Appeals Tribunal and requires the Governor to appoint a Planning Officer. The Planning Officer may, and if so required by the Governor in Council shall, submit proposals to the Governor in Council for the preparation of a development plan.

The Law aims to: a) a purposeful, especially thrifty use of land; b) the promotion of a meaningful and orderly development of the settlement; c) the protection of cultural heritage, landscapes and natural resources from impairment.
