The South Sudan Development Plan (SSDP) 2011-2013 is a national planning instrument adopted by the Government as a response to core development and state building challenges during the first three years of independence. The plan identifies key development objectives for the new Republic of South Sudan and outlines priority programmes for achieving these objectives.

This Proclamation aims at improving management and utilization of land and land resources for agricultural purposes in the Southern Nations, Nationalities And Peoples' Regional State. It applies to all land that lies outside of municipal borders. The Proclamation defines the right to acquire, free of charge, rural land by peasants, pastoralists and semi-pastoralists engaged in agriculture and the equal rights of women with respect to land and provides for the protection of such rights.

The Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS) is a five year strategy designed to accelerate the progress already achieved and to shape the country’s development in the future. The document has a multi-sectoral approach and a national coverage, relating to the period from 2013 to 2018. The EDPRS is guided by the revised targets of the Vision 2020 adopted in May 2012 which outlined the clearly the objectives to be achieved as a pre-requisite for rapid growth and poverty reduction.
